I have lost my proofcard — what should I do?

Overview

Losing a proofcard is common and does not mean you cannot order. Your child's photos remain on the ordering system, and the school or photographer can look up your access code so you can log in without the physical card.

Step by step

  1. Contact your child's school first — the office or your child's teacher may hold spare codes or be able to request one from the photographer.
  2. If the school cannot help, contact the photographer named on any email, letter, or previous order confirmation you received.
  3. Provide your child's full name, class or year group, and the school name so they can find the correct record.
  4. Once you receive the access code, visit the ordering website and enter it as usual.
  5. If a password was originally on the proofcard, ask whether one is required for your child's event.

Common issues / Troubleshooting

  • School has no spare cards — the photographer can usually supply the access code by email without reprinting the card.
  • Multiple children at the same school — request a separate code for each child; codes are not interchangeable.
  • Shop appears closed — online ordering is available for a limited period (often up to 12 months). Contact the photographer if you think you have missed the deadline.

Tips

  • Act promptly — free delivery to school often has a deadline that may pass while you wait for a replacement code.
  • Save the access code in a secure note on your phone once you receive it.
  • If another parent at the school still has their proofcard, ask them for the website address (not their code — each code is unique to one child).

Tip: Have your child's name and class ready when you call — this helps staff find the right record quickly and avoids delays.
